Offbeat News
Chessbase.com has an interesting article about how we could use AI technology to fascilitate trading information with aliens if we ever found any. Since light speed communication with a civilization many light years away would take generations, we could let our AI program do our negotiations for us to speed up the process. Personally, I don't think there are any aliens to find, but that's just my point of view :-)

BBC News is reporting that Beatles alumnus Ringo Starr and comic book legend Stan Lee will be teaming up on a new project. Apparently, this will be an animated TV and DVD series staring Ringo as an "evil-battling, earth-saving hero with a great sense of rhythm". No word yet on what Ringo's super powers will be.

Escaping the Universe

"Prospect", a British magazine on politics and other things has a rather bizarre article on future, highly-advanced intergalactic civilizations trying to escape the universe before it grinds to a halt in the far flung future. It reads like science fiction (and there's a reason for that!).
